Massachusetts has launched a $75 million road-safety initiative to reduce wrong-way driving crashes through advanced detection technology, enhanced warning signs, real-time alerts for law enforcement, and roadway improvements across the state. Governor Maura Healey said the program is designed to prevent tragedies before they occur, following several fatal incidents that have highlighted the need for stronger highway safety measures.
